Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using a net account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with any other players. The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will be "distributed" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to pick the most beneficial game each and every instance.
After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, some styles of the game give the bettor an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
